Top THREE reasons for using the Close Baby Carrier...
1. Carrying your baby in a sling leaves your hands free for other tasks - making your life easier
2. A carried baby is a happier, calmer baby - this in turn creates happier parents
3. Baby carrying offers constant and easy access to the breast

Like all the other parents who’ve chosen the Close Baby Carrier have found out, this carrier really can change your life. You can put the sling on easily by yourself, you can carry your baby in it for hours if you want, and you can get on with the rest of your life while you do so.

This isn’t a rucksack to transport your baby from A to B. Thousands of mums use this carrier to bond with their baby, to soothe their baby, to rock them to sleep and then get on with the rest of their day whether that includes working, shopping or washing up.

The Close Baby Carrier can bring you closer to the life you want with your baby.

Five Different Carrying Positions

Position 1

Newborns lie down in the carrier, in a position similar to the fetal position. They lie side-on as though in a hammock. Excellent breastfeeding position and perfect for baby to sleep.

Position 2

For carrying your newborn baby in an upright position. This position affords excellent support and comfort, cradling the baby’s bottom, back, neck and head. Excellent lower back support.

Position 3

For babies over 4 months, place in an upright facing towards you. The additional wrap may be used for extra support. Baby's hands can be tucked under the fabric if necessary.

Position 4

For babies over 6 months with good neck and head control, place in an upright position facing away from you. The additional wrap should be used for extra support.

Position 5

For babies 12 months and over. Use the carrier the other way round to the previous positions. This position gives greater comfort for older babies. Excellent lower back support.

There are some things that will need to be changed every few hours for the next few years...

Thanks to the Close Baby Carrier, your lifestyle doesn't have to be one of them.

How to use the Close Baby Carrier…

The Close Baby Carrier is designed to be easy to put on, on your own. Once practiced a few times, it takes less than 30 seconds to put on with baby safely positioned inside. Each Close Baby Carrier comes with an illustrated instruction brochure and free DVD.

The Close Baby Carrier can be used from birth with a small premature baby, up to 15 kg (32 lbs) toddler. The sling is fully adjustable and as such will fit and adjust from a ladies size 8 to size 20. It can also fit men up to 6ft, 4in.

There are 5 main positions available with the Close Baby Carrier. Baby can be carried upright facing in, upright facing out and also in a nursing position. When baby gets older, the carrier can be adjusted to carry a heavier/older toddler comfortably. All the positions are explained thoroughly in the instructions and on the DVD.

The carrier is designed to be anatomically correct for both the baby and the wearer. This carrier will not cause back problems, as it is specifically designed to carry over both shoulders with wide soft cotton straps with fixed lumber support to evenly distribute the baby's weight. Because the baby is held so close, he or she will have the same centre of gravity as the wearer; this is essential in preventing back problems. However if you currently suffer from back problems, please consult your chiropractor or doctor and they will be able to help you with your specific situation.

Twins cannot be carried in this carrier at the same time, however being able to carry one of the twins allows parents to have their hands free to look after the other at the same time, and babies can swap over regularly and easily. The Close Baby Carrier does not allow for the back carry position due to its structure. It has been designed for one person ease-of-use and as such is fixed at the back. The Close Baby Carrier does not currently allow for a hip carry position.

Close Parent is committed to promoting a good breastfeeding relationship, and the Close Baby Carrier can definitely be used to breastfeed.

The baby can start facing outwards in the carrier as soon as he/she can support their head properly. This is usually around the 4-6 month mark.

An excellent and essential feature of the Close Baby Carrier is that the wide cotton strap that goes over your shoulder can be gently placed over the back of your baby’s head, affording optimal support for your baby’s head and neck.

As the Close Baby Carrier is a one-size-fits-all, smaller sized people tend to find that there is an excess of material which hangs down once baby is in. These can be tied underneath the baby’s bottom to tidy them away, or in winter months, can be used as extra warmth over baby.

The Close Baby Carrier is made of 100% organic soft cotton jersey that envelops the wearer and cradles baby all the way along their body.

Wearing babies in a carrier will not make them clingy. In fact the opposite is true. Fulfilling the baby's needs while mum or dad continues with their everyday tasks hands free is exactly what a baby requires. They will move away independently as soon as their need to be close to mum/dad has been satisfied.

There are no clips of buckles on the Close Baby Carrier. It simply slips straight on over the head like a t-shirt and is adjustable with clever ring system.

The Close Baby Carrier is made from 100% organic cotton jersey which keeps its shape, while gently enveloping your baby. All the dyes used are baby friendly Oeko Tex dyes. The rings are made from anodised aluminium.

Close Parent is committed to ethical production, which is why they source all of their fabric from Turkey. It is also manufactured in Turkey and this in turn means a small supply chain. Close Parent visits the factory regularly and knows the staff well.
